Introductory Stretches
is a book designed for horse and rider was put  together by Angelese Russell and myself, Jacqueline Becker.
Angelese  is a certified fitness trainer for people and also a very good rider.  After experiencing the incredible feeling of being stretched by Angelese, I asked her to help me put a book on horses and humans stretching together.
Stretching is so important for joint health and muscle tone.
Lack of flexibility is a known cause of general health problems and sport injury. Nagging injury especially around joints takes longer to heal. Stretch adds renewed life and spring to tired muscles and prevents injury. Stretching transports oxygen to sore muscles and quickly removes toxins so recovery is faster. It works as a deep massage therapy technique as it  activates muscle fibers during the stretch allowing transport of toxins out of the muscles quicker.

The  other exciting part of doing therapy on horses for so many years is the learning curve I had to go through to put the whole picture together for each individual. Teeth, shoeing, injuries, conformation, saddle fitting, and not to mention their riding history!
It is just fun putting the pieces together like a jigsaw puzzle. We cannot do without the help of veterinarians, massage therapists, chiropractors, dentists, saddle fitters, farriers and especially  the trainers. We all have our areas of expertise and we should all recognize one cannot do without the other.
Sore muscles, nerves and acupressure points on fire are a report on the skeletal system of the body and a handy way for the therapist to get an idea of the areas to treat.

We are so spoiled these days with the modalities, magnets, myofacsial, bionomy, massage, supplements, stretch and exercise, along with shoeing and saddle fitting. I am fortunate to be associated with the best dentists, vets, saddle fitters, farriers and massage therapists in the world. If you need any of these please call for a number.
